We need a combination of things. Wind, nuclear, coal and natural gas.

This is a lot more attractive that coal fired power, smoke, ash disposal, and mercury pollution.

Good to see the environmentalist energy-killers lose a few.

GOOD! ! ! Environmentalists can't be allowed to win all the time. At some point we must move forward. Better a wind farm then a couple of giant smokestacks.

One win for the conservationists and a loss for the environmentalists. Although, the envirionmentalists in this case were even fighting against the EPA!!

Turbine are initially costly, no power when the wind gets below 6 mph, and maintenace will be costly once the turbines age. Many still have a "not in my backyard" philosophy.

These wind farms will take the place of hydroelectric dams which drown river valleys.

holland has fond wind energy doesn't reduce the need for power plants. The power plants have to be up and running for when the wind stops blowing.

Mackinaw City, MI has had a small wind farm for years. You can see it easily from Southbound I-75.

Lesson learned: somebody has to have these turbines in their backyard in order for this source of energy to develop. Hopefully the tree huggers will figure this out sooner or later.

wind farms are definetly our future. But the average Joe can not afford much of the green concept. Cities and Townships have to put in these features.

Just about every idea has drawbacks with it. Of course, by avoiding these energy alternatives, the more we will have to relie on fossil fuels. The price of fossil fuels are going up, and OPEC would really like to have more sales.

The further away from where the power is needed, the higher the cost of building the transmission infrastructure. People want clean, efficient power but don't want the source of that power near them.

The Friends of Lincoln Lakes nonprofit group may not want wind turbines in their area but there are many other places to put them. It’s what is best for the area for renewable energy from solar, wind, thermal, tidal, hydro and/or nuclear.
